Seriously, IGMC is a fantastic platform for budding & seasoned composers to showcase and learn.
I found it very interesting to be able to choose from two different game types.
It's great to have the oportunity to keep developing skills through practice and also see the creative ideas of other people.
The feedback was really great and totally worth it: professional, detailed and insightful.
I was not a finalist, but I became a better composer.
I was excited about this competition and I'm looking forward to future competitions
It was my first time participating in a contest, but I received analytical feedback and was able to improve my music. Thank you very much.
Great fun and can't wait to try again!
Great experience, first time I did something like this. Will definitely do it again.
I find it really cool that a contest dedicated to video game scoring like the IGMC gives us, young composers, this opportunity to create something in this musical world that a lot of us grew up with ! Especially the fact that we could get such a precise feedback for a our entry is marvelous ! The contest’s functioning was straightforward which made the whole experience so cool 😀 Thank you to the whole team and the judges !
It was an awesome contest! It was the first time I've ever participated in a video game music competition, and I had a great time. I really appreciated the well-thought feedback I received, despite me not getting finalist. Having put much thought into where my music would go and how it would adapt, I appreciated having received commensurate thoughtfulness in the feedback; there were several things my judge said that were very meaningful to me. They encouraged me to return to the piece and incorporate some of their suggestions, and I absolutely will. I also really appreciate the quick responses when I had to ask a question via email. It was almost like the next day I heard back. Overall, it was a great time. The only thing I can say is I wish I had known about it sooner so that I could spend more time on my music, but I also don't know anything about marketing an indie game music competition, so I don't know how I would change it. But that's it. Everything else was great!
...my feedback was awesome. It was encouraging, specific, and gave insight into what that judge’s process is when scoring a game. I would have loved the opportunity for some sort of follow up or dialogue with the judge that gave me feedback. My feedback brought up some questions, and I would’ve loved to get answers to those and talk more about my submission. Maybe adding a second tier of feedback to purchase? And make that option still available once we get our initial feedback? I think that would be really valuable to those of us that want that.
The feedback was fantastic and had great advice and suggestions for improvement while also being encouraging. I could tell the reviewer spent time carefully considering many aspects of my submission. Great experience overall and I'm excited to continue refining my process and work. Thanks again!
I entered for the feedback and found the response that I received to be very informative and specific, which was great. It was very useful and gave me specific points to work on in the future, most of which made great sense. I will definitely be participating in a future event and telling my friends.
Such a great experience from participating in this contest to the feedback. Thank you!
Thank you for hosting this contest! I sincerely hope there is another one.
Thanks for making this possible!
Please continue offering this contest.
Please could you say a big thank you to whoever gave the feedback for my submission - it was so incredibly useful and explained very well, genuinely really helpful.
The contest was good and I enjoyed being a part of it. Since it was my first time participating, I do not have a comparison to other competitions of the sort.
Since this is my first time doing something like this I wasn't exactly sure about it, but the instructions were very clear and I had enough time to compose. I found it a challenge to make music for scenes and emotions that are already given, but I also had fun to experience something new! The feedback didn't feel rushed and contained some helpful tips and kind words. Even though I didn't make it into the finale, I think it was a good experience and I consider participating again sometime!
